A condition of the planning authorities was that any ground disturbances related to the construction of a single-storey building at Main Street, Roscommon, should be monitored by an archaeologist. The site was in the centre of the medieval town of Roscommon. An archaeological survey was first executed on the remaining architectural features. On 12 June 2000, works related to the buildings started and were monitored, but no ground disturbance occurred, as the building was built up at ground level without any foundations. No further archaeological works were recommended.
