Pre-development test-trenching was carried out prior to the construction of sixteen houses. A service road for the development was proposed in close proximity to a ringfort. Camera House, a 19th-century dwelling, stood near the centre of the ringfort but was levelled during the 1960s. Some architectural fragments from the house are still visible in this neighbourhood.
One large square trench 18m across was cut outside the west sector of the ringfort and within 5m of its outer edge. Testing here produced nothing of archaeological significance, but large amounts of 19th- and 20th-century domestic pottery, primarily of English manufacture, were recovered. The large quantities indicate the use of this ground for disposal of household refuse from Camera House. In the four other tested trenches, no features of archaeological interest were evident.
