Testing of this site in 1999 had revealed a series of undated, apparently parallel features of uncertain function (Excavations 1999, 255). Further work was carried out in the area of the proposed house to try to find the function and date of four of these. One of the features was ephemeral; two were parallel ditches; and the third curved across the top of one of the straight ones. None of the features was dated, and their function remains unclear.
