Test-trenching was undertaken in an attempt to define, as far as is reasonably possible, the extent of the archaeological resource at Skeahorn, Co. Monaghan. The site is near a recorded enclosure, SMR 17:23.
Four test-trenches were excavated on 29 July 2000. No features of archaeological significance were found. It is unlikely that subsequent development of the site would have any archaeological impact. However, it is possible that archaeological features survive outside the area of the test-trenches. Monitoring of any subsequent groundworks of the site by a qualified archaeologist would ensure complete recording.
