A proposed house site is located 22m beyond the western constraint of a ringfort. Monitoring of topsoil removal at the house site (19m x 21m) and driveway (4m x 23m) was undertaken. This revealed a uniform, mid-brown, sandy clay/loam topsoil, which overlay a yellow-brown boulder clay with occasional gravel inclusions. One sherd of modern black-glazed crockery was uncovered. Nothing of archaeological interest was found.
