Monitoring was required on Phase 4 of a large housing development because of its close proximity to Clonmagaddan ringfort. Prior to topsoil-stripping some worked flints were recovered from the ploughed field surface. Charcoal-flecked deposits were revealed during topsoil removal; on investigation it was apparent that they were of no archaeological significance.
