Five pre-development test-trenches were cut at the site of a proposed house and ancillary service works. The development came within 80m of Liskilleen Castle and its associated bawn wall. In spite of their proximity, there was nothing of an archaeological nature in any of the trenches. No features were evident, and the only artefacts consisted of fairly modern pottery.
