Testing was carried out in a small derelict site within the village of Killala just outside the projected line of an ecclesiastical enclosure. All material above the natural subsoil consisted of fill containing an assortment of modern debris as well as the remains of a recent cobbled surface and some cut stone associated with the last dwelling on the site. No archaeological features or deposits were encountered.
