A two-day excavation, carried out during work on the Northern Motorway/Dunleer–Dundalk Bypass, recorded the remains of a destroyed fulacht fiadh, which consisted of a sporadic spread of heat-fractured stones and dark soil extending over an area 14m x 14m.
