The site was test-trenched in advance of a private residential development. A site listed in the RMP (39:18) exists to the north of the development, and the proposed house is within the zone of archaeological interest. The archaeological site was recorded on the first edition of the OS maps but appears to have been levelled before the second edition. The date and function of the site are therefore unknown. Test-trenching did not uncover any archaeological features or finds.
