Three test-trenches were excavated on the footprint of the foundations of a single house, septic tank and percolation areas at Lotteragh Lower, Bruree, to comply with a planning condition. Trench 1 was 10m by 6m by 2m; Trench 2 was 3m by 2m; and Trench 3 was 2m by 10m. No archaeological stratigraphy was recorded, and no artefacts were recovered from the test-trenches.
The site is in a field to the east of an enclosure (SMR 39:95). The enclosure is a raised circular area, with a diameter of 25m, surrounded by a 3m-wide ditch. The enclosure forms part of a group of enclosures known as the Bruree Forts.
