Monitoring of topsoil clearance for the construction of a private dwelling-house, garage, septic tank and driveway took place in Ballingoola townland, Herbertstown, Co. Limerick, on 19 August 2000. The site is 15km south-east of Limerick City and 3km north of the prehistoric landscape that is Lough Gur. It is c. 80m north of Longford Bridge village and c. 60m south of a stone bridge (SMR 23:78) crossing the river Camoge. It comprised 2 acres of pastureland at the southern end of a large field (c. 20 acres).

Initial inspection of the site revealed no visible archaeological features. No subsoil-cut features were uncovered during the monitoring of topsoil clearance of the site.
