The N24 Tipperary Road-Widening Scheme was processed under Part X of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Regulations 1994. The recommendations from the National Monuments and Historic Properties Service included the advance testing of a platform-like feature c. 8m north–south x 7m.
Work was undertaken on 12 April 2000. Undisturbed boulder clay was found directly below the topsoil. Two sherds of china were recovered from the interface between subsoil and boulder clay in Test-trench 1. No archaeological features were present. The feature is natural in origin.
