A test excavation was carried out on 22 June 2000 on the site of a proposed single dwelling-house development. Three cuttings were dug by mechanical excavator. The excavation revealed fine, brown topsoil over a substratum of loose limestone rocks. There were no archaeological features or finds. In January 2001, ground disturbance associated with the construction of the dwelling was monitored, revealing more of the same very rocky substratum below the topsoil but no other layers or features.
