In October 2000 portions of a human skull were discovered in dredged material from the River Triogue at Knocknagroagh, Co. Laois.155 The site was investigated by the state pathologist, Dr John Harbison, and the Museum was not informed until after this time. A site visit was then carried out by Mary Cahill. Unfortunately the site had been heavily disturbed at this stage, and no further remains were recovered.
