Licensed monitoring was carried out between Kilkea Castle Demesne and Moone. This feeder line is taking supply from the four-bar Ballyvass to Athy transmission main, supplying Wynne’s of Moone, at Boltonhill Crossroads, Co. Kildare, and Kilkea Castle Demesne, Co. Kildare. The feeder line is a 180mm-diameter pipe that passes through the townlands of Kilkea Demesne, Kilkea Lower, Mullaghreelan, Ballyvass, Belan and Hobartstown West.
The pipeline was being laid in the roadside verge and passed through various areas of archaeological potential relevant to listed monuments. During the course of monitoring no features or artefacts of archaeological significance were encountered.
