Planning permission was granted by Kildare County Council for the construction of an extension to an existing clubhouse at Kilkea Castle Golf Club. An archaeological assessment, involving the mechanical excavation of a single test-trench 26m long, was undertaken on the site of the proposed extension. No archaeological features were revealed. This is consistent with the results of previous test-trenches excavated on the site of the clubhouse (Excavations 1993, 47, 93E0061).
