Monitoring, required as part of the planning conditions, was undertaken to mitigate the archaeological impact of the construction of an extension to a dwelling-house on Athy Street, Castledermot, Co. Kildare.
Excavation of the foundation trenches and related topsoil-stripping, using a machine excavator with toothless bucket, took place on 30 August 2000. No archaeological material was identified.
