Testing was undertaken in July 2000 in compliance with a condition of the grant of planning in relation to the construction of a bungalow on the site. The site lies on the northern bank of the Lerr River, to the south of the Franciscan friary.
Three trenches were excavated by machine. The only features of note were field drains, the form and nature of which indicated that these were most likely of 19th-century date.
