The development site is located on the western side of the Moyderwell Road, Tralee. It is within the eastern limits of the zone of archaeological potential for Tralee town as established by the Urban Archaeological Survey. The well that the townland takes its name from is now covered by the property of the Sisters of Mercy (across the street from the development site).
Monitoring of all ground disturbance associated with the housing development was undertaken in December 2000, and the project is currently ongoing.
