Monitoring of topsoil-stripping in connection with the development of 65 dwelling-houses at Cloonnahaha, on the outskirts of Gort town, was carried out in compliance with a condition of planning and recommendations from Dúchas The Heritage Service. The site, which encompassed an area of c. 10 acres, was stripped of topsoil by a mechanical excavator. No features of archaeological significance were encountered, and the only finds were occasional 20th-century pottery and glass fragments recovered from the topsoil.
