Monitoring of soil-stripping and subsequent excavations for a treatment plant and ancillary works revealed no evidence of archaeological activity despite the presence of a nearby enclosure, a limekiln and a Penal mass rock, and the area was deemed to have been archaeologically resolved. The work took place over a two-month period in June and July 2000.
