The proposed development concerned the extension to the rear of an existing dwelling and a domestic store. As it is located in the zone of archaeological potential for Athenry, monitoring of foundation trenches was recommended.
Monitoring revealed a brown layer, 0.4m deep, which contained fragments of modern glass. This lay over an orange-brown, natural boulder clay. No evidence of features/deposits of archaeological significance was revealed. The layer present was made-up ground of a modern date.
