Test-trenching was undertaken at the site of the now-demolished post office sorting office on Townhall Street, Enniskillen (between Townhall Street and Wellington Road), in advance of development.
Two trenches were opened in the area of proposed development. No significant archaeological remains were encountered. If any remains had existed on the site, these were destroyed/removed during the construction of the previous buildings, which involved scarping/levelling of the original ground surface.
