This small site was identified in the course the archaeological monitoring of the topsoil-stripping prior to the construction of Phase 1 of the Airport–Balbriggan bypass (see Excavations 2000, No. 323). The site was identified as a small, linear area that contained charcoal-enriched soil, fragments of cremated bone and a cow tooth. The site was 0.55m long, 0.36m wide and 0.12m deep. The charcoal-enriched soil and the cremated bone were in a layer at the base of the feature. It is probable that this site had been a small pit that had subsequently been ploughed through.
