Test-trenches were excavated along a section of the route of the proposed Dundrum bypass. The site was located to the east of the Ballinteer Road, between Dundrum Castle, to the south-west, and the River Slang, to the north. Five trenches were excavated by mechanical excavator, all c. 20m wide, across the proposed bypass corridor. A number of modern features and deposits (dumped rubble) were recorded in the test-trenches, but there were no deposits of archaeological interest.
