The construction of Phase 1 of the Airport/Balbriggan bypass necessitated monitoring of the topsoil-stripping and of the construction of the fence line. Three small features of archaeological significance were identified at Stockhole Lane (see Excavations 2000, Nos 342–4). This phase of topsoil-stripping and fence construction is ongoing, and the licence had been extended into 2001.
