To facilitate the clearance and possible recutting of a reported stone-lined drain starting at a recess in an enigmatic earthwork at Mill Loughan, Coleraine, the work was to be undertaken by an archaeologist. The shallow depression, 2.3m wide and up to 0.12m deep, proved to be formed in the relatively modern metalled surface of the path leading to the monument.
