Testing was carried out in advance of the redevelopment of this site, in compliance with planning conditions. The site lies within the historic town of Mallow. Four test-trenches, 2m wide, were opened and ran roughly north–south along the site. No pre-20th-century walls or structural features were noted during the testing. No archaeological finds, features or levels were noted on the site.
