Test-trenches were excavated in advance of a residential development to the west of the Augustinian foundation known as ‘Red Abbey’. The development site is located off the street and will have no visual impact on the abbey. Test-trenching indicated that the site was infilled in the late 19th century. The trenching did not uncover any archaeological features or finds.
