Testing was carried out to facilitate plans to convert a roofless Church of Ireland church into a mine museum, on behalf of a local parish cooperative. The church was built in the 1840s to cater for the needs of the Cornish community who worked in the copper mines; it has not been in use since the 1940s. The church is in the vicinity of an earlier monastic church, Kilnamanagh, ruinous since the 1700s.
Testing carried out in all areas to be disturbed proved negative. No archaeological features were exposed.
