The site, which lay on the route of the N18/N19 Road Improvement Scheme, had been identified during field-walking. It was described as an ‘extremely faint, roughly circular depression defined on one side by a very low bank’. A few sherds of modern pottery and glass were found in the topsoil, and no archaeological stratigraphy was present. The feature was a natural surface irregularity.
