The pipe-trench excavation for this scheme was carried out solely on existing routeways in Counties Cavan and Monaghan, from outside Kingscourt town to Carrickmacross and onto Lough Egish. Because the trench was excavated along existing roads, there was a lot of previous ground disturbance. No features or finds of archaeological significance were revealed while monitoring this scheme.
