An archaeological assessment of a cropmark was carried out as part of a planning application for a housing development. The site was listed as an enclosure in the Sites and Monuments Record, 7:65.
A copy of a high-flown black-and-white aerial photograph revealed a series of cropmarks following the course of the Burren River, which ran along the southern boundary of the site. Testing of the feature in the northern side of the site exposed large deposits of gravels within the underlying glacial till. These may have produced the effect that was visible as a cropmark. Six trenches were opened across the site, measuring 48m, 36m, 36m, 24m, 22m and 10m.
Nothing of archaeological interest was noted.
