Monitoring of topsoil removal was undertaken prior to the development of Edenaveys Industrial Estate by the IDB. Three fields, close to the Markethill Road, outside and south-east of Armagh City were monitored. Construction of the Markethill Road in this area had resulted in the removal of part of a drumlin, with the resulting subsoil being dumped in the two fields closest to the road.

The only feature identified during monitoring consisted of a shallow pit containing charcoal-stained soils and measuring 1.2m in diameter. It was found to be a maximum of 0.3m deep. No artefacts were retrieved from the fills.
