It was proposed to develop some open ground in the area of Loughview, Eden, Co. Antrim. While no sites of either archaeological or industrial archaeological importance were located within the proposed development area, several sites were recorded in the general vicinity. These consisted of a holy well, flint from local raised beach deposits and industrial archaeology associated with the nearby railway line, mills and salt works.

The testing of the nine trenches was carried out using a mechanical digger fitted with a toothless bucket. The results indicated that the site consisted of the remains of a coastal bay or inlet backed to the east by raised beach deposits. Nothing of archaeological interest was noted within these deposits.
