Testing was undertaken on the above site on behalf of Mandalay Services Ltd, who propose to extend and refurbish the existing premises. The objective was to determine whether there were any surviving features or deposits associated with the adjacent graveyard.
This site has undergone several periods of renovation and reconstruction with the demolition of previous buildings. This was further reflected in the stratigraphy, with disturbed layers evident in each cutting. As no archaeological deposits or features were recovered within the areas tested, the site may therefore be considered as being archaeologically resolved.
