A site outside the walled town of Dungarvan but inside the zone of archaeological potential was assessed before a housing development. The two cottages standing at the roadside were probably built in the early 18th century, with low eaves, a steeply pitched roof, and distinctive chimney stacks. The buildings were refurbished in the late 18th/19th century (roof and openings raised, brick incorporated). A survey was made before demolition; no earlier buildings were found on site.
