The site of Lendrum's Bridge Wind Farm covers an area 115m east-west by 60m and is in the Sperrin Mountains, generally above the 280m contour, equidistant from Fintona to the north and Fivemiletown to the south. The Glennamuck stream, a tributary of the Quiggery Water, cuts across the south-east area of the site, while tributaries of the Mary Burns River originate in the south and south-west.
Platforms for nine of the proposed twenty turbines and a substation were mechanically excavated under archaeological supervision during Phase 1. Each turbine platform measured c. 18m in diameter. The peat was excavated to subsoil and consisted of a homogeneous, light to mid-brown, soft peat, free of tree roots or timber. Subsoil was a firm, light brown, sandy/silty clay with rounded stone inclusions.
Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered during this work.
