A proposed private development, to the west of the church and graveyard at Kilfeakle, Co. Tipperary, was tested in August 1999 as part of an archaeological impact statement.
Four 0.7m-wide trenches were inserted, two across each of the two proposed houses and access routes. They revealed a limited amount of medieval material in association with several undated (and therefore of potential archaeological interest) features. These were mostly furrow cuts and ploughmarks, with occasional large pits and larger, trench-like cuts. There was a higher concentration of features to the north of the site. The nature of the archaeology suggested agricultural or gardening usage. Based on the findings, some further archaeological examination was recommended, as was the repositioning of one (the northern) of the proposed houses.
