The monitoring report on the first two areas of Sligo and Environs Water Supply Scheme, those in Carns (Carbury barony) and Carns (Duke) townlands, is in Excavations 1998, 185–6.
The pipeline from the Water Treatment Plant Field in Carns (Duke) to the Break-Pressure Tank and the area for the tank itself in Tonaphubble townland required monitoring of the topsoil-stripping of an area 25m by 180m and was done in several short sections on various dates during 1999.
Nothing of an archaeological nature was found.
