Pre-development testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed development in Rathosey, Coolaney, Co. Sligo. The site is immediately outside the zone of importance for an archaeological complex. Eleven test-trenches were excavated by machine within the proposed development. They varied between 14m and 20m long, and all were 2m wide. In all, the natural daub was found under the sod/peaty topsoil. A modern field drain was uncovered in the southern end of Trench 7. No archaeological features or finds were recovered from any of the test-trenches.
