Pre-development testing was undertaken on the site of two proposed dwellings in Knockmurry, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. The proposed development sites are within the designated archaeological area for SMR 27:4, an earthwork.
Six test-trenches, 8–18m long and 2m wide, were excavated by machine within both proposed development sites. No archaeological features or finds were recovered from any of the trenches.
