Testing was carried out at a site of proposed development at 57 Dublin Street, Monaghan, on 1–3 April 1999. One test-trench, measuring c. 5m x 1.4m, was excavated by hand. The remains of a (probable) 19th-century stone base/wall foundation, along with the remains of a stone wall and an associated stone-lined drain, were uncovered. No archaeological artefacts were found.
