Monitoring of topsoil-stripping for a proposed residential dwelling at Cornapaste, Scotshouse, Co. Monaghan, was carried out in April 1999. The site is to the east of the Black Pig's Dyke, or Worm Ditch, and lies close to the remains of an enclosure, a holy well and 'Roman Catholic Stations' where there is the tradition of a Patrician foundation.
Monitoring revealed that topsoil directly overlay natural boulder clay, and nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
