This work was part of the ongoing monitoring of pipe-laying for the Ashbourne/Ratoath/Mulhuddart Sewerage Scheme. A short stretch of the grassy verge along the roadside but on the other side from that closest to the quarried-out 'moat' or ringfort was tested. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered. The route of the pipeline was through the road itself for the remainder of the distance through the village of Kilbride (Priest Town), so only monitoring was carried out. At this point the underlying shale was close to the surface, and nothing of archaeological interest was noted.
