Pre-development testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed development in Liscromwell, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. An enclosure is in the field of the proposed development, around which a buffer zone of c. 15m will be fenced off and left undeveloped.
Five test-trenches were excavated by machine outside the buffer zone. Each was 20m long by 1.5m. No archaeological features or finds were recovered from any of the trenches.
