Testing was before road realignment on the Garracloon road was carried out by Mayo County Council. An area of 70m x 8-10m was tested. The area was excavated with a mechanical digger to undisturbed subsoil or rock, which was at a maximum depth of 1m. Nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered.
