A circular pit was discovered during monitoring of topsoil-stripping along the route of the Dunleer–Dundalk Bypass Motorway. Excavation took place on 13 and 25 May 1999 and uncovered an isolated circular pit, 1.25m in diameter x 0.1m, filled with charcoal and burnt stone. No finds were recovered.
