Monitoring took place of two proposed dwellings at Dromin Junction, Dunleer, Co. Louth. The site is to the south of a possible earthwork. The area of the proposed houses and septic tanks was stripped by mechanical excavator. The natural, yellow/brown shale boulder clay was revealed at an average depth of 0.2-0.4m below sod and topsoil. No features of archaeological significance were exposed in the area stripped, and no finds were recovered with the exception of a single sherd of modern ceramic. No further archaeological work was required.
